Join SCBWI ACT for a development evening revealing the mysteries of self-publishing & grants.
Nicole Godwin, founder of Tusk Books, will kick off the evening, sharing the highs and lows of her self-publishing journey covering topics such as crowdfunding, ISBNs, book design, printing, promotion and the dreaded distribution. Following Nicole’s session, we will be joined by a knowledgeable panel including Genevieve Hopkins (self-published The Adventures of William Brambleberry: Aviator Mouse), Kerry Malone (self-published You can do it Joey!), Jacqueline De Rose Ahern (partner published Charlie’s Adventures in Hawaii) to further discuss alternative publishing pathways.
Tania McCartney, author and illustrator, Irma Gold, editor and author, and emcee Emma Allen, will engage in a frank and detailed discussion, about the secret world of grants. Both Tania and Irma are the recipients of various grants and Irma has twice worked on artsACT’s Peer Assessment Panel assessing grant applications for the ACT Government’s annual Project Funding round. They will provide practical strategies and tips for your next grant application.
To finish off the evening, Nicole Godwin will provide you with the low-down on her time at the SCBWI conference in NY.
Cost: $25 SCBWI members and $40 non-members
Thank you Tania McCartney for yet another fabulous promotional image.
