We are now taking bookings for manuscript and portfolio assessments! Assessments are only available to paid-up delegates.
Manuscript & Portfolio Assessments are an extremely important part of the SCBWI Tasmania Professional Day and are designed to help you develop your ideas and gain editing insights to enrich and improve your work. There is the additional potential to develop a relationship with a publishing house or agent, with the ultimate goal of publication.
Assessments will be held Face-to-face on Sunday 28th October in Hobart at the Tas Writers Centre rooms between 9am and 5pm. Some time slots will be available during the day on Saturday 27th October at Moonah with preference for delegates who are travelling from outside of the greater Hobart area. Please let us know.
Confirmed Manuscript assessors:
Clare Hallifax – Publishing Manager, Omnibus/Scholastic Australia
Alex Adsett – Literary Agent, Alex Adsett Publishing Services
Maryann Ballantyne – Black Dog Books/ Walker Books
Confirmed Portfolio assessors:
Christina Booth – Tasmanian author & illustrator
Tony Flowers – Tasmanian illustrator
All assessments are limited in number and tickets sell quickly, so book early to avoid disappointment!
We would like to give each person who attends the Professional Day the opportunity to book an assessment, so we are limiting bookings to one assessment (One of each type i.e. one Manuscript and one Portfolio) per person.
It is now past October 1 so we have opened the bookings for further assessments even if you have one booked already. Any remaining places can now be booked by attending delegates who would like more than one assessment.
Assessments are 15 minutes with a scheduled 5 minute changeover and are only available to attending delegates. Assessments are non-refundable and non-transferable, so please choose carefully.
Each assessment costs $60 for SCBWI members or $70 for others, places are limited.
Bookings close 11th October unless sold out prior. Payment and files must be received
by 12th October.
